Shino Aburame is the leader of his clan and one of Konoha's 11 in Naruto. Like other members of the Aburame Clan, Shino was offered as a host to Konoha's parasitic insects in exchange for utilizing their bug-based jutsu. Shino's reserved nature and quiet disposition hide his battle prowess quite well. As one of Konoha's 11, Shino mastered many of his clan's most powerful techniques before becoming a Chunin. He's used his chakra-eating beetles to defeat enemies considered much stronger than him and boasts one of the deadliest jutsu repertoires of anyone in Konohagakure. Aburame
Being one of the many clans that make up the Hidden Leaf Village, the Aburame Clan has been sidelined for most of the Naruto series, despite possessing a ninjutsu that is unlike no other. Even with the distinctive insect-based fighting style, the Aburame Clan has only been shown a handful of times throughout the series, with their unique powers being highly underutilized. Even though his plan to use the jutsu was foiled by Shino and Naruto, the destructive nature of the technique is clearly depicted. Moreover, the horrid nature of the technique further makes the jutsu quite terrifying, as the prerequisite to using the technique is gathering a large number of corpses. Being a forbidden technique that is capable of such large-scale damage, the Jar of Poison Jutsu has a few prerequisites that are necessary for it to be used. The jutsu user primarily needs to possess Rinkaichu , a specific type of nano-sized venomous beetles that are extremely rare to find, even within the Aburame Clan. The Rinkaichi thrive on human flesh, yet they are unable to spread through airborne methods. The Jar of Poison Jutsu negates this limitation by allowing the venomous beetles to spread through a massive poison cloud, ensuing large scale contamination. The jutsu, however, does not distinguish between friend or foe, killing all that lay in its path. The technique requires an intricate set-up, and its end result cannot be achieved instantly. First, the caster must accumulate a large number of corpses in an enclosed area, preferably a deep pit. The corpses are then infected with Rinkaichi, which rapidly multiply and grow within the bodies. The mixture of gas released from decaying flesh and the multiplying Rinkaichi result in an overwhelming explosion, releasing a gigantic poison cloud capable of killing any living being in its wake. Once the jutsu has been cast, the only way to stop it is by killing the caster, which would result in the barrier being erased and the jar of poison subdued.

As the Uchiha clan began moving towards a coup, Sugaru continued to watch Itachi both during and after Team Ro's missions, the latter in secret. In doing so he learned of Itachi and Shisui Uchiha 's plans to try and stop the coup by using Kotoamatsukami on Fugaku Uchiha. When Itachi left the village following the Uchiha Clan Downfall , he called out Sugaru, aware that he would be followed wherever he went. Sugaru didn't believe Itachi could do anything to stop him, but was quickly proven wrong: Itachi used Tsukuyomi on the insects inhabiting Sugaru's body, preventing him from moving. He then used Amaterasu on Sugaru, burning him and each of his insects until only ashes remained. Sugaru, via his insects, cried out in agony as he died, finally avenging Shisui. This made these insects highly effective in assassinations, as they were undetectable as mosquitoes yet as deadly as scorpions.
