Choose from soups, salads, frittata, sandwiches, and traditional British favourites including sausage rolls, pasties, and steak and ale pie. Reservations are strongly recommended. Our British market has a fab selection of imported groceries and house-made entrees.

On a rainy and snowy late winter day, a date for afternoon tea and a meal at A Taste of Britain is the perfect way to spend a day. Or, really, any day if you ask me. But you would be missing out. Where some tea rooms can seem old fashioned, A Taste of Britain has that English feel while still being modern. Farm tables dot the room and the golden tin-style ceiling looks down from above. Dishes, table-to-table, are mismatched. At its heart, A Taste of Britain is a tea room. The menu is full of traditional English specialties as well as soups and salads. They even have coffee. My husband loves the beef cottage pie. The beef and vegetables dish is served in a tomato sauce and topped with mashed potatoes.

The quality of food was not the same under the old owner, the scones were dry.

This was one of my top favorite tea houses. They have a nice gift shop with British Merchandise and teas. High Teas was great, the food was fantastic, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone had a good time. The staff were very attentive-and made sure we had everything we needed. The sandwiches were average and not very interesting.

I have been to TOB four times. The first three experiences during the weekday were lovely. Our last experience in the Spring of , was on a Saturday and was disappointing. My daughter order the drinking chocolate instead of tea. When it arrived it was lukewarm and seemed extremly watered down. It took forever for me to get the attention of the waitstaff. When I quietly and polietly told our waitress about the chocolate,she looked at me in disbelief! I invited her to try it herself, as I had, but of course she did not. The pot she brought back was only slightly better and she seemed annoyed with us! This is a case where an apology would have gone a long way.

Each guest will enjoy sipping tea out of her own unique cup and saucer set. I had the chilled cucumber and mint soup. We can prepare the food for you to pick up — from tea sandwiches to traditional English scones to petit fours. They always order a few cornish pasties rto bring home, i have always enjoyed it, nice warm atmospheere. Of the sweets, I loved the oat bar. Allow your guests to serve themselves, or keep this in the kitchen for filling your tea pots or air pots. The top tier is baby blue, the middle is mint and the bottom is a lemon yellow. Our tea came overbrewed with the leaves left in the pots so was unpalatable to drink especially for a second cup. My waitress was very polite and upbeat and made me feel very welcome. Our scones are English style - made with less fat and sugar then American style scones, and they are meant to be slathered with cream and fruit on top. Our waitress completely disappeared after delivering our food; we didn't even have a fork or knife to use on the scones or mini desserts!

A wonderful place to dine and sip tea! The food was flavorful, well-portioned and presented. Both were delicious. Tea Cups and Saucers We have a lovely assortment of vintage china tea cups and saucers for you and your guests. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins as we were not given one for each of us and they were at least 10 mins. Our charming dining room is also available for private dinner parties every evening, from about 20 to 40 guests. One11 oz Jar of delicious lemon curd, imported from England. Tea at home is a better option. All the food is hand-made, gorgeous, and most importantly, delicious. Gluten-free option available.
