L oving children's shows as a female adult most likely comes from either having children in your own family between us, babysitting is the worst and should be considered a crime or simply enjoying that feel-good nostalgic sense of being a kid back when everything was less complicated. Ever since the pandemic struck, many adults have sat down with children in their family or inner circle to watch these shows, taking their attention off of anxiety-filled worldly issues by predominantly sharing beautiful bonds together as a family. For those other batches of adults who still enjoy tuning into these shows every once in a while, the pure nostalgia of watching a program that you also grew up on is pure magic. Viewing television programs with female leads is mostly inspiring as a fellow young woman because it shows that female representation is present and thriving in the industry at a mainstream level. Having the opportunity to see someone who looks like yourself on television doing extraordinary work will enable anyone to feel like they can conquer the world from a young age. Kids shows are greatly important especially in eras when television is omnipresent for educating children and giving them a sense of morality. Somewhere in the psyche is deeply instilled, the ethical lessons from kids show that good people will always prevail, along with educational and inspirational aspects of shows for children. Learning this early on could equip any child with the necessary skills to better utilize their rational thinking and morals. Unfortunately, most of these kids' shows and children's movies have historically been geared towards boys, though the past couple of decades have seen a significant emergence of female-led programs.
