Connect and share knowledge within a single location that is structured and easy to search. Since some time my PC gives 3 beeps, pause, 3 beeps, reboot repeatedly on boot. Nothing on the screen. Googling for this beep code gave me no meaningful results it's certainly not a keyboard problem. After many around 30 tries of booting, it sometimes gets through and then I can use my PC for days without powering down without a problem. But once a few days my screens are black, keyboard lights frozen. After restarting my PC, I'm again faced with the boot issue.

Three long beeps followed by two short beeps is a memory initialization error. This means that the memory has failed. If you only have one stick of memory it is very difficult to diagnose. If you have more than one stick, you can remove all of them and replace them one stick at a time in the slot closest to the processor and boot. Test each stick this way. It still does the same thing without ram though, I took out the ram to try to boot just into the bios and it still did the same exact thing, same beep code and everything. And each ram stick gives the same beep code, i cant try the original ram stick because i gave it to my brother and he won't let me test it, do you think I possibly could've shorted something on my motherboard? You will have to install at least one stick of memory in Slot 1 to see if it boots. I did that and now there's no beep code and no display output my system is just turning on my led strip and fans and then turning them off and on and off, do you think my motherboard is damaged? Or my cpu? If you have more than one stick of memory did you try all them one at a time? I don't believe that it is the motherboard. I believe it is the memory causing your problem, but you need to test each stick separately. Do you need my magnifier eye glasses?

Three beeps that repeat after a pause and occur when you power on your computer indicate a problem with the system memory. After switching out the original pair of RAM I turned on my PC only for it to start beeping 3 long beeps followed by 2 short beeps. My computer is properly connected to the monitor, but nothing appears. After opening it, I realized that one of the RAM sticks wasn't inserted and locked properly. I fixed the problem and tried to start it up agian only to have the same result.

Did you mean:. Letting it cooldown before booting may explain the behavior. Clean processer and ram slots out the cell replug. May be a capacitor problem too. If so re-seating the ram modules seems to have fixed the 3 beep error code on startup. Log in. What's new. Try using memory modules from the same manufacturer with the same part number and speed. I'll definitely home in on the memory modules and the peripherals and clearing the cmos. Thanks for all the helpful suggestions.
