We are going to go and check out what the new hike will look like, or how best to get to the trailhead. The trail starts at Guardsman Pass. Turn left on Guardsman Pass Road. The trail climbs up from here. The one on the right is steep and goes to the summit. It was steep, rocky, and a little slippery, but we saw a group of 60 year-old women climbing to the summit. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are May through October. Dogs are welcome and may be off-leash in some areas. Definitely some scrambling but we found it manageable. Went out on a Monday and we only saw a handful of people.
